Remodel Guidance with an Experienced Design Eye

Remodeling your home is exciting — but it can also feel overwhelming. With so many permanent decisions to make, it’s easy to second-guess yourself. Our interior designers are here to simplify the process and help you move forward with direction and peace of mind.

Our team brings years of hands-on experience working alongside contractors, builders, and homeowners to help you think through decisions before they become permanent.

While we do not create renderings or draw architectural floor plans, we specialize in reviewing plans and selections with a trained design eye. We evaluate layouts for flow, function, furniture placement, storage, sight lines, and how spaces will feel in real life — not just on paper.

We are not licensed kitchen or bath designers, and we do not provide city code or technical compliance guidance. Your contractor and architect handle those important details.

What we do provide is thoughtful, experienced design insight.

We review your plans and blueprints with a trained, experienced eye — evaluating flow, function, furniture placement, sight lines, lighting, storage, and how each space connects to the next. What looks good on paper doesn’t always feel right in real life, and small adjustments now can prevent costly changes later.

During your consultation, we will:

  • Review blueprints for proper layout and flow

  • Evaluate room proportions and furniture placement

  • Discuss kitchen and bath functionality

  • Recommend materials for flooring, countertops, cabinetry, and tile

  • Analyze lighting placement and electrical planning

  • Review traffic patterns and space planning

  • Discuss long-term durability and resale value

  • Guide cohesive color selections for all fixed elements

Color plays a critical role in every permanent selection. Undertones in flooring, cabinetry, and countertops must work together — and with your existing elements — to create a cohesive and timeless result.

We’ll walk through the pros and cons of materials, help you determine what decisions should be made first, and ensure your remodel supports both your lifestyle and your investment.

By the end of your consultation, you’ll have a solid understanding of what to choose — and why those choices are the right fit for your home.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE

• Professional advice and recommendations

• Education on materials, process (if needed)

• How color affects EVERY decision

• Access to wholesale pricing on flooring, cabinetry and more
• Access to our trusted tradespeople
• Up to 3 hours

Just a note to let you know the new hardwood floors are going in and they’re looking good!

Thanks, Melanie, for your consultation. We got some painting done ahead of the new floors and per your recommendation. The colors are perfect.

It was so fun learning from you! I couldn't get to sleep last night with all the new information running around my brain.

– Karen

We really enjoy the time we get to spend working with you on our home project.  Making final design selections is a stressful process and you are making us feel so much better about our entire project.

We also went to look at kitchen cabinets. They seem to be a good value as well as a local cabinet builder, so that also makes us feel better about such a big purchase.

We could not be happier!  — Brent and Angie

Thank you! We learned so much from you in one visit! You are amazing! Even Ray was wondering if you would return as we were again talking about the visit this morning and how much more we need your assistance.

–Marilyn

Clients, Brent and Angie, hired Melanie to guide them through their main floor remodel. The remodel included kitchen, dining, living room, power room and entry way. They first enlisted her help with an Home Updating Consultation. During this Consultation, she helped them discover their vision, colors, goals, budget and she gave them her professional resources. She met with them every couple months during the project until completion. She took the guesswork (and pure agony) out and helped them make smart decisions on cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, fixtures, lighting, flooring and wall and trim colors. After the architectural elements had been selected, Melanie helped with space planning, furniture selection and fabric selections. The result was a process that made decision-making easy leading to a cohesive, relaxing and beautiful space.
