designLOVE

A Giving Program that helps create spaces that foster hope, health and happiness for people who need a little extra love.

Let's talk about resilience – the kind that comes from facing life's toughest challenges head-on, with nothing but determination and a whole lot of heart.

Meet, Kevyn, a Minnesota mom who's been through more than her fair share of challenges. She made the gut-wrenching decision to walk away from a 14-year marriage that wasn't just rocky – it was crumbling beneath her. Her husband, a good man at heart, was transformed into a stranger by addiction and trauma, leaving her to care for their five young children on her own.

Imagine: a newborn baby in one arm, four other kids tugging at her sleeves, and a home with pipes that burst on the one cold snap of winter 2024. With frozen pipes and no water, a mobile home about to be condemned, she found herself and her kids on the verge of homelessness.

Just when she thought she had nowhere left to turn, friends who saw her struggles decided to do something about it. Shawn and Stephanie Smith started rallying support, raising funds, and are embarking on a mission to rebuild Kevyn's mobile home from the ground up. It's not just about walls and floors; it's about hope. Hope for a fresh start, for laughter-filled movie nights with her kids, and for a sense of security she thought she'd lost.

It's been a rollercoaster of emotions – tears shed, prayers whispered, and moments of overwhelming gratitude. And through it all, she's clinging to hope. Hope for a fresh start in a home where her kids can feel safe and loved.

She is starting from scratch and she can't do it alone. She needs your help – your support, your generosity, your kindness. Whether it’s prayers, donations or shares, Kevyn and her amazing littles thank you, appreciate you, and couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you for being part of her story. Your compassion means more than words can say.

Kevyn,
Serenity (8), Preston (7), Emersyn (4), Zakary (3), Taysom (1)

“A new home gives us something I thought we'd never get, a fresh start. It brings so much hope and promise for our future. I imagine snuggling up on a comfy couch with my five and watching a movie on the weekend. Comfy blankets and endless laughs.

Having a dining room table is something we haven't had. Being able to have a place for all six of us to eat together or have a fun game night is just such an amazing thought.

Not having to constantly worry about things breaking and falling apart or wonder if any of us will fall through the floor or bathtub literally gives me so much peace.

Having a place that we love and want to come home to is the happiest feeling and biggest hope I have. Safety, security, reliability. I cannot wait until we start our new beginning.”

— Kevyn

When life gets tough, dreaming big and having hope become crucial, serving as fuel for the soul and reminding you of your inner strength and ability to change your story.

Melanie, owner of Happy Place Interiors, has encouraged Kevyn to embrace this mindset and urged her to select furnishings and household goods that reflect her personal style, creating a joyful sanctuary where she can nurture her five children and provide them with a home and watch them thrive.

In addition, Happy Place Interiors has been one piece of the collaborative effort to rebuild Kevyn's mobile home. Offering design recommendations, storage solutions and paint colors that reflect Kevyn's personality and preferences.

Amazon Wishlist items will be shipped to Happy Place Interiors and delivered to Kevyn when the home is ready.
All items on the Amazon Wishlist are reflective of Kevyn "dreaming big" about the things she desperately needs, however, if you have items that are similar in size, color, style, she would be grateful for the donation.
She is beyond
grateful for any and all help, support and prayers.

TOGETHER, WE CAN HELP GIVE THESE KIDS AND THEIR DESERVING MOM A NEW BEGINNING.

When people are in an environment that helps foster living their best life — everyone wins. A place to live that feels like home is a foundation for success. This is why since 2016, Happy Place Interiors has donated a percentage of profits to local 501(c)3 charities that help people find, fix or furnish homes.

In 2024, Happy Place Interiors created designLOVE, a Giving Program in which no cost Interior Design Consultations and Services are given to help support people in need.

So when Happy Place Interiors helps you transform your house into a home, you're also helping transform the lives of people in need. It's a win, win!
